I was born and raised in Mexico City inside the Jewish Community that is relatively small, only 40 000 jews in the country. I am now Academic Director for the Universidad Hebraica which is the only jewish university in Latin America.
The Mexican Jewish hosts 17 Jewish K-12 schools, with different academic, religiouse and cultural approaches that are determined by country of origin, ideological inclination and religious affiliation Community
Mazel tov!!! Please send my good wishes to your daughter and her husband. I am sure you are thrilled. How lucky for you that Boston is treating you to a bona fide heat wave. Would love to speak to you. Karen
I have been thinking about you a great deal recently, especially as my colleagues continue to take trips to Mexico City. I hope you are well!
I was wondering if we have a mutual friend. Her name is Sabrina Maleh and she is the assoc. principal at Magen David Yeshiva in Brooklyn; a sephardic, syrian community. She is in my graduate school classes and she recently mentioned meeting with a delegation of jewish educators from Mexico City; I assumed you had to be involved!
Again, I hope you are well. Hoping we can reconnect.
