I love the sunshine, the outdoors, learning and traveling. I have worked at Facing History much of my professional life, spent several years in Israel, transplanted to Boston from California and I am a huge Redsox fan.
Hi everybody,
Just returned from vacation renewed and restored. Sorry to join this conversation a little belatedly. I would like to personally welcome you all to the group and let you know how much I am looking forward to being together in Israel in a few weeks. This is year 2 of what I believe is an exciting project, and my hope is that we form a community of learning and purpose that will enrich our work and the work of others in the field of Jewish education. I look forward to reading your updates on this site.

I was kidding but only by half; I would like to learn conversational Hebrew, at the very least.

Hi Jan.
Just cruising the site.
First impressions: I think we need to make a specific place for people to post their lessons. Right now they're spread out over a wide ranging and non-specific discussion.
Second impression: I don't want to offend you, or any of your staff, but I find the Ning sites a bit hard to navigate, hard to figure out the organizing principle(s). I don't think I'm alone in this. If this is a discussion that seems pertinent (even if not implementable at this time) I'm glad to pursue it. If not, no worries. I'll learn to navigate it.
I've messaged Elan, letting him know, briefly, what I/we are up to. As soon as you accept me as a friend, I can use the message function of this site to message you regularly. If you'd prefer, I'll use email. Let me know.
I will make an email list asap, to contact everyone in the group directly. I'll use this to have more direct and personal contact with people, and to let everyone know about new work and developments on Ning. I hope it will be another way to redirect people's interest back to this site and this group, and ultimately, other groups, as well.
All for now.
Chag Samayach.
Steve
